Cord's Baptism

Today was a very special day for our family. Cord was baptized today. We are so grateful to all of our family and friends that came to support us.

I am so proud of Cord and his decision to become a member of the church.

Our parents are so good to us. I am so thankful that we live so close to both of them. They are so supportive of everything that we do. We can always count on them for their love and support. Best of all, our boys are so close to them and have many opportunities to spend time with their grandparents.

January Birthdays

Last month we celebrated Cael and Cord's Birthdays.

Cael turned six on January 21st. He was so excited for his birthday. I think the thing that he was most excited for was taking treats to his class. He was very specific about what he wanted me to buy. He wanted cookies. We had a birthday party for him and his grandparents came over to help us celebrate.

He had a great day. He is such a sweet boy and so much fun to be around. I am having a hard time believing that my baby is six. I know that I say this all the time, but time goes by way too fast.

Cord turned eight on January 27th. This is a big birthday for him. He too took treats to school and his request was DING DONGS... We also had a party for him with our family and his grandparents.

Cord is so much FUN and he always has us laughing. He has so much energy and enjoys life to the fullest. He is so excited to be baptized and I am so proud of him and his eagerness to become a member of the church.

We had a great time with the boys and are so grateful for our wonderful family. We count our blessings each and everyday.

Christmas 2010

Last Saturday we made our annual trek down to Salt Lake to see the lights at Temple Square. The boys look forward to riding the FrontRunner down, eating dinner at the Gateway and of course seeing the lights. We left early to try to avoid the crowds. However, we quickly found out that there would be no avoiding the crowds. Between the Mormon Tabernacle/David Archuleta Concert at the Conference Center and the Curt Bestor Concert at Abravanel Hall, the city Trax worker estimated that there were over 350,000 people located in or around Temple Square.

If you haven't been to Temple Square recently, I suggest that you make time and go. They have some new and amazing displays. My favorite is in the south visitors center. They have a scale replica of the Salt Lake Temple. It is wonderful to look at the detail of the temple up close. You can also see inside and look at each level and many of the rooms. There are also touch screen computers that you can look at each room, zoom in on details and it gives you a brief overview of the purpose for each room in the Temple. Our boys loved learning more about the Temple. Their favorite part was seeing how the Angel Moroni is secured to the top of the Temple. I tried to get a picture of it, but there were so many people there that it was impossible to get a good photo. We are already planning a family night trip soon so that we can take more time to look at this display without all the crowds.

I love this time of year, not only because we celebrate the birth of the Savior, but this is also the time of year that Greg asked me to marry him. 18 years ago, Greg proposed to me a snowy night. It was very romantic, and it was the best and most important decision that I have ever made. I couldn't imagine my life without him.

Our handsome crazy boys all bundled up. They are all so much fun. They have the cutest personalities and continually keep Greg and I on the edge of our seats. Just the other night we were driving home from Grandma and Grandpa's house and Cord started singing from the back seat. He wasn't singing your traditional holiday song, he created his own version of "All I Want For Christmas". Cord's version went like this... All I want for Christmas is an Ipod Touch, an IPod Touch, and Ipod Touch.

I am so thankful for this time of year. I love the Spirit of Christmas. I am grateful for wonderful friends and an amazing and supportive family. I am especially grateful for the Savior and his example, and the opportunity to celebrate his birth by serving others.

Happy Birthday Cooper

I cannot believe that it has been another year and Cooper is 12 years old today. Cooper has had a great year. He is doing so well in school and he seems to really be enjoying it. He has played football, wrestled, participated in the school play, earned a number of merit badges and rode a calf at Hooper Tomato Days. Cooper is so much fun to have around. He has a great sense of humor and he is very thoughtful. He has a quick whit and loves to crack jokes.

Cooper is great with little kids. This picture was taken at our family reunion this year. He is a great babysitter.

The boys all love Halloween... This year they all dressed up like the band KISS. Cooper played the role of Spaceman. They all looked amazing.

Cooper and Colton had the opportunity to earn their Aviation Merit Badge. They had two days of class and then they got to go up for a flight in a small plane. This photo is of Cooper getting off of the plane, notice his great smile. He had a blast!!! Also notice the bag that he is carrying off of the plane. No, he didn't get sick, but he was prepared if he needed it.

What a GREAT Boy Scout... Always prepared!!!

Today is Colton's 14th Birthday...

I cannot believe that he is 14!

Colton is an amazing son, I love him so much. He is so kind, talented, thoughtful, creative and smart. He brings so much joy and happiness into our home. It has been so much fun to watch him grow and mature into a handsome young man. I am so proud of him and the choices that he makes in his life. He is a good example to his younger brothers, and he is always respectful of his Dad and I.

Back to School

It has been a very long time since my last post. Summer is a very busy time and I have a hard time updating the blog. Well school has started again, and I have had a really difficult time this year watching my boys go off to school. Time just goes by way too fast. I wish that I could slow things down and even push a pause button sometimes.

Colton started the eighth grade this year at Rocky Mountain Jr. High. He loves school and has been counting down the days for school to start. He tried out for the football team this year and he made it!!! I am so excited to be able to go and watch the games.

Cord is in the 2nd grade at Hooper Elementary. He is so excited because he is in the same class with all of his buddies. He loves spending time with his friends and that is why he is so excited to be back in school. Cord is playing soccer this fall and is looking forward to football next year.

Cooper is a big sixth grader at Hooper Elementary. He loves his teacher and talks about her all of the time. He too is excited to have a lot of his friends in his class. Cooper is playing football and he loves it. He had mixed emotions about school starting again. He spends most of the summer working side by side with his Grandpa Dave and I think that he is really going to miss being with him. I think that Grandpa is going to miss him too.

First Day of School

Cael started kindergarten today. WOW... I didn't think that it would be this hard to see my baby go off to school. He has been my shadow for the past five years. He would follow me from room to room, carrying a bag of toys with him. I have loved every minute of it.

He has a great teacher, Mrs. Cragun. He was so excited to go today and he kept reassuring me that the time would go by fast, and that he would be home real quick. He asked me if I was going to cry and I told him no that I would hold it together until after I left the school. I made it to the car before the tears started to flow. If only I had that pause button.
