Cooper's First School Dance

The Hooper School Sixth Grade has a dance at the end of each school year. They teach the students some dances and they have them all fill out a dance card. I was able to go and take a few pictures of Cooper. He is so cute and funny. I am not going to lie, I got a little emotional watching him out there on the dance floor with those cute young ladies. I cannot believe that he is going to turn 13 this year and start Jr. High School in the fall.

Cooper surprised me when he asked me to dance. I loved every minute of it. I hope that I didn't embarrass him too bad. Thanks Cooper for letting me be a part of this day!

Colton - Rocky Mountain Jr. High Track

This is Colton's second year participating on the Rocky Mountain Track Team. However, this is the first year that he has run the hurdles. I am so proud of Colton. He is willing to try just about anything. He has great form, and he is working to increase his speed between the hurdles. Congrats Colton!!!

ChIcKeNs

We have CHICKENS... What were we thinking? We made the mistake of stopping at CAL-Ranch on a Saturday this Spring. The boys fell in love with the chickens. Well we, (I) eventually caved and let the boys each get a chicken. And, if you have chickens, you have to have a chicken coop. And, if you know my husband, you know that he is going to go all out on the chicken coop.

Did you notice that there is not a picture of Cael with his chicken? Well he didn't want to touch it!

The Hilton of Chicken Coops.

Oh, by the way, did you know that chickens don't start laying eggs until they are 6 to 8 months old. So basically, we are still waiting for the payoff!

Time to Catch Up!

It has been forever since I have posted anything on our blog. So here goes...

Ogden Half Marathon - May 21, 2011

I ran the Ogden Half Marathon for the second time. I had a great time. It was such a beautiful day. I loved running around Pineview Dam as the sun was coming up over the mountains. There were so many people that I knew running the half marathon and the full. It was fun to see them and encourage one another.

It was so good to have my family there when I crossed the finish line. Thanks for being there to cheer me on.
Crossing the finish line.
Enjoying a creamy.
Before the race... Thanks Keicha for letting me tag a long with you!!!

Pinewood Derby

Cord took second place in the ward pinewood derby. He had a great time designing and building his car with his Dad. In fact, each of the boys made a car to race. It was so much fun watching Cord race his car.
Here Cord is watching his car race.
So proud of his car...
This is the Pinewood Derby parking lot. We had about 20 boys that participated. It was a great night, we all had a lot of fun.

I mentioned earlier that each of the boys made their own car. Colton's is the Bat-Mobile, Cooper's is the skinner black one, Cord's is the blue one, and Cael's is the other black one. Oh... and Greg's, yes Greg made a car too, his is the green one. For those of you that know Greg, you know that he never does anything half-way. It is all or nothing. Greg is an amazing Dad. He is so creative and supportive of the boys. I am so grateful that he enjoys spending the time with our boys, and that he has the patience to help them complete their projects.

Kindy 500

Today Cael's class had a program about America. They sang a few patriotic tunes, and they sounded great. After the program, they all hopped into their cars to hit the road and take a tour across America.

They started their road trip with a parade for all of the parents to see their creative cars. The first stop on their trip was the White House, then Lincoln Memorial, next was the Statue of Liberty, then the Liberty Bell. Cael also got his very own drivers license and his own set of keys. What a fun and creative way to teach the kids about this great country that we live in.

Cael and Greg built a Convertible Red Volkswagen Bug. They worked on Cael's car for about a week. He was so excited to go to school today.

This afternoon Greg and Cael decided to go out and build something in the snow. The spent about 3 hours outside and this is the result...
