Looking Forward to Spring 2012

I am so excited for this book to come out.  I have been following nienie's blog for quite sometime.  She has written a book about her amazing story.  The book doesn't some out until spring 2012, but you can now pre-order it.

Stephanie's faith is so strong.  I can feel her strength as I read the posts on her blog.

A New Adventure...

Today I am feeling stressed, overwhelmed, humbled, blessed, inadequate, and completely out of sorts.  I received a new calling today at church.  I have know about it for a couple of weeks, but I was just sustained and set apart today.  I have been asked to serve as the Relief Society President of our ward.  When the Bishop called Greg and I into his office, he asked us both if we had any idea why he had asked to speak to us.  Greg and I both looked at each other and said no not really.  That is when he turned to me and said, Sister Cypers, the Lord would like you to serve as the Relief Society President of the Hooper Landings Ward.  At that moment, I had a rush of thoughts and feelings race into my mind, and I knew that in fact the Lord had been preparing me for this calling.  There were promptings and feelings that I had been experiencing that were preparing me for this call.  I am scared and I already feel a sense of responsibility for the welfare for the members of our ward.  I have a wonderful group of women that will be serving with me.  My first counselor is Staci Tonioli, second counselor is Michelle Clarke, and secretary is Holly Bartlett.  I went to the temple and I fasted and prayed, and I know that these are the women that the Lord wanted to serve with me.  Again, I am scared, but I know that the Lord will help me through this.  I know that I will grow, and I know that there are many many very important things for me to learn from this calling.

I am so grateful for my amazing husband and wonderful boys.  I know that they will support me and be a great help to me.  I know that the gospel is true and I thankful for the blessing of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Cooper's First School Dance

The Hooper School Sixth Grade has a dance at the end of each school year. They teach the students some dances and they have them all fill out a dance card. I was able to go and take a few pictures of Cooper. He is so cute and funny. I am not going to lie, I got a little emotional watching him out there on the dance floor with those cute young ladies. I cannot believe that he is going to turn 13 this year and start Jr. High School in the fall.

Cooper surprised me when he asked me to dance. I loved every minute of it. I hope that I didn't embarrass him too bad. Thanks Cooper for letting me be a part of this day!

Colton - Rocky Mountain Jr. High Track

This is Colton's second year participating on the Rocky Mountain Track Team. However, this is the first year that he has run the hurdles. I am so proud of Colton. He is willing to try just about anything. He has great form, and he is working to increase his speed between the hurdles. Congrats Colton!!!

ChIcKeNs

We have CHICKENS... What were we thinking? We made the mistake of stopping at CAL-Ranch on a Saturday this Spring. The boys fell in love with the chickens. Well we, (I) eventually caved and let the boys each get a chicken. And, if you have chickens, you have to have a chicken coop. And, if you know my husband, you know that he is going to go all out on the chicken coop.

Did you notice that there is not a picture of Cael with his chicken? Well he didn't want to touch it!

The Hilton of Chicken Coops.

Oh, by the way, did you know that chickens don't start laying eggs until they are 6 to 8 months old. So basically, we are still waiting for the payoff!

Time to Catch Up!

It has been forever since I have posted anything on our blog. So here goes...

Ogden Half Marathon - May 21, 2011

I ran the Ogden Half Marathon for the second time. I had a great time. It was such a beautiful day. I loved running around Pineview Dam as the sun was coming up over the mountains. There were so many people that I knew running the half marathon and the full. It was fun to see them and encourage one another.

It was so good to have my family there when I crossed the finish line. Thanks for being there to cheer me on.
Crossing the finish line.

Before the race... Thanks Keicha for letting me tag a long with you!!!
