Are You Ready For Some FOOTBALL....

Well we survived the opening week of Little League Football. Greg coaches Cooper's team and they played at Mountain Crest. They had a great season opener. They defeated Mountain Crest 31 -0.

Colton #33 getting into the action. Cole's team played Bear River and they won 22 -0. It was a great day. I had a great time cheering on the sideline and it is fun to see the boys get so excited about their games. I'm sure that this will be the first of many posts. There are 6 more weeks of regular season games. I LOVE FALL AND FOOTBALL.

Bear Lake Round 2

We had the opportunity to go to Bear Lake again with the boys for 4 days. We spent three out of the four days at the beach. Oh and by the way it was Raspberry Days... I have never seen that many people in Bear Lake at one time. It was CRAZY!!! We all had a blast! Rod, Mindy and their kids came up and Grandpa Dave and Grandma Glo were there too. It was a nice relaxing getaway after all of Miss Rodeo Utah/Ogden Pioneer Days festivities.

Each day spent at the beach brought a new and creative sand sculpture.

Bear Lake

Greg and I took the boys to Bear Lake the weekend before the 4th. We had such a great time. We spent a couple of days at the beach, we golfed and just RELAXED!!! The weather was beautiful.

This was Cael's favorite spot. I'll be honest, I was a little bit uneasy with the fact that he played in that mud hole the entire time that we were there. In fact, he almost fell asleep while playing in there.
If you know my husband, you know that he never wastes an opportunity to do something creative. So each day that we were at the beach, he and the boys created a masterpiece. One day we ended up with a giant turtle.

And the next day, a giant Patrick, you know SpongeBob's friend. The boys really enjoy all of the people coming up on the beach to check out their creations.

Grandpa Dave and Grandma Glo also came up to the cabin so that we could spend some quality time together. While there, the boys got my Dad to play video games. I think that this was an all time first. Cord and my Dad were boxing each other on the playstation, and Dad KNOCKED OUT Cord. Not bad for his first time. Cord kept trying to get Dad to have a rematch, but he declined. Cord is not a gracious loser, so you can imagine how that went over.

And finally, on the way home, Cooper asked if we could stop at the Logan Cemetery. Earlier in the school year, he had to do a report in school on an ancestor that came across the plains with the pioneers. He did his report on Peter Maughan. He wanted to stop and see where he was buried. I thought that it was great that he was still interested after so much time had passed. We took some pictures and wandered around looking at all of the Maughan's that have been buried there. We also wrote down a bunch of names so that we could research and find out how we were related to them. We had a great time and hope that we can get up there again before Football starts.

Baseball

Tonight was our last night of baseball for the season. Cooper and Cord both played. They each played two nights a week, and wouldn't you know it, Cord played on Mondays and Wednesdays and Cooper played on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So we spent 4 nights a week at the ballpark. Cord played his first year of coach pitch, and Cooper played his first year of kid pitch and he was one of the pitchers on his team... He is a lefty!

Cooper did a great job pitching and I think that he really enjoyed it. Next up, FOOTBALL. I can't believe that practice starts in a month.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

We were able to take the boys and go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. I am so glad that we went. From the moment that we got there and went into the one of the tents to wait for the next tour to start, I could feel the spirit so strongly. I was emotional through the entire tour. I am especially grateful that Greg and I could be inside of the temple with our boys. I loved being able to stand in the sealing room all together, looking in the mirrors, and explaining the significance to the boys. The temple is so beautiful. If you have the opportunity you should go.

Timpanogas Hike

Last Saturday we hiked to the top of Timpanogas and then went through the cave.  I am proud to say that we all made it to the top.  Even the little ones.  (what am I saying, I barely made it.)  They hiked to the top and then back down all by themselves.  It was a beautiful day... not too hot and not too cold, It was just right!  

I had such a great time spending the day with all of my boys.  It was also nice to spend some time with the extended family.  The kids all look forward to every opportunity that they have to spend time with their cousins.  

The cave was actually a little bit chilly, Cael looks like he is freezing in this picture.  He is exaggerating just a little.  

I love this picture of all of the kids.  We had stopped so some of us could catch our breath and the kids were lined up looking over the edge.  

Another one of my resting stops... the kids were all very patient with all of us adults that needed periodic stops along the way.   

Pinewood Derby

On Wednesday, our ward held the annual Pinewood Derby.  Cooper had a great time and really loved making his car with his Dad.  They have been working on Coop's car on and off for about a month.  All that work must have paid off, because Cooper ended up taking second place.

The entire family had a great time.  Greg and the boys are already talking about next year.
