HaPpY BiRtHdAy CORD!

Yes, another birthday party at the Cypers home.  Cord turned SIX yesterday.  He has been waiting so patiently for his day to arrive.  In fact, he has been counting down the days since the beginning of January.  When Greg went in to wake him up yesterday, Greg said, "Cord wake up!"  Cord said to Greg, "Dad don't you have something to say to me?"  Greg pretended not to know that it was Cord's birthday and of course Cord got all worked up.  It is so much fun to see the boys get so excited about their birthdays.  Cord was also very excited to go to school and take a treat for all of his friends.  His class sang Happy Birthday to him, and on the way home from school, all of the kids on the bus sang Happy Birthday to him.  

One of Cord's favorite gifts was a Clock Radio.  He told Grandma Tam that he was going to be going to school all day next year, and that he would need an alarm to wake him up so that he could get to school on time.  

And what birthday is complete without the double barrel smoking shotgun?????  Thank you Grandma Glo and Grandpa Dave.

We have had a great month of celebrating birthdays.  We are so blessed to have healthy boys that bring so much joy into our lives.  We are especially grateful to have both sets of grandparents live so close, and that we can spend so much time with them.

Wow, my baby is 4.  I cannot believe it.  Cael's birthday was last Wednesday and he has been so excited to turn 4.   He loved his cake and really enjoyed eating it as you can tell.  

Cael really enjoyed opening his presents.  His favorite presents were his Incredible Hulk Mask and his pretend Chain Saw.  He had a great day and it was so much fun to watch him.  He is such a good boy and he brings so much joy to our family.  He is so sweet and is always looking out for his mom.  Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

Fun in the Snow

Between Christmas and New Year's we were able to spend a day sledding with the Cypers Family.  We all had a great time.  All of the kids were very excited and a little bit out of control. I am happy to report that there were no injuries.

I am grateful that we all live close enough that we can get together for FUN days like this.

Cooper loves the snow and would stay out all day if you let him.  By the end of the day his cheeks were beet red.

Cord is my little dare devil.  His motto is the faster the better.

Colton had a great time with all of his cousins, they spent most of the day attempting to surf down the hill on their sleds.

Wabbit Hunting...

Can you think of anything more insane than hunting rabbits in temperatures of -6 degrees and hiking in knee-high snow?  Well me neither...I don't get it!  What is all the excitement about?  Greg, Steve, and John took all of the boys that are over 10 years old.  This trip was Colton and Cooper's first rabbit hunting experience, and they LOVED it!  Even though their sandwiches and drinks were frozen when they finally took a break for lunch.

I'm Back...

It has been over two months since my last update on my blog.  I went to Las Vegas for 10 days for the Miss Rodeo America Pageant.  I had a great time, however, I missed my family so much.  It was very hard to be away from them for so long.  When I returned home.  My wonderful husband and the boys had totally decorated our house for Christmas.  The laundry was caught up and the house was spotless.  I am so blessed to have such a GREAT husband that loves me so much, and that does so much for me.  Not long after I returned home, we had a little bit of a scare.  Greg told me that I needed to take him to the emergency room, because he had a blood clot in his leg again, and that he felt like it was moving up his leg. Well we went and found out that he does have another blood clot in his leg, but that it is the superficial kind.  The diagnosis was to increase his Coumadin, keep his leg elevated and apply heat packs.  He is doing better and the pain is starting to subside.  

We were able to spend some time together as a family for the holidays and we went down to Salt Lake on the Frontrunner to see the lights at Temple Square.

It was a great night and it was nice to focus on the Savior and the true meaning of Christmas.

Every year on Christmas Eve, the boys get to open one present, and every year, surprise...it is pajamas.  They actually look forward to it.  The boys had a good Christmas and they were so grateful for all of their presents.  

We had an amazing Christmas and we are so grateful to be able to spend the holiday with our families.

The BYU/UTAH rivalry is alive and well in the Cypers Family.  Grandma Tam got each of the kids a sweatshirt with their favorite team on it.  

We would like to tell all of our friends and family how much we love them and we wish you all the best in 2009. 

Never A Dull Moment...

We have had a CRAZY day. Colton has been complaining that his stomach has been hurting for the past three days. We took him to the doctor last night, and they sent us to the emergency room. They admitted him at 3 a.m. and operated on him this morning to removed his appendix. He has been so brave, and he is doing great. We will probably get to take him home today.

Unfortunately, he has to miss a Halloween Party with his friends tomorrow night, and he is missing a skit that he is supposed to be in at school today. He feels pretty bad about that. But we are just happy that he came through the surgery so well. Nothing is worse than having a sick child and not being able to make him feel better.

The doctors and the nurses have been so great, and have taken such good care of Colton. We are so grateful for all of their help. Also, thanks Aunt Mindy for taking care of Cord and Cael for us.

A Day on the Farm

Recently Cord, Cael and I were able to go on a field trip to a dairy farm. Cael's preschool class went to the Wadeland Farm. I have to say, that I have never seen so many cows. While on the farm, we learned that they milk over 1200 cows every day, and a calf is born every day on the farm. WOW!!!

The farm has a full time veterinarian on staff. He was telling the kids all about how he takes care of all of the sick cows.

A funny thing happened when we were inside the milk barn. Cord was getting as close as he could to check out what was happening. Then one of the cows kicked and flipped its tail, and guess what landed on Cord's face right above his lip? That's right...Cow Poop, as Cord put it. Then without hesitation, he wiped it off of his face and on to my jacket.
